Accessible Information Standard
The standard aims to make sure our patients, or their carers, with a disability, sensory loss or impairment are provided with information they can easily read or understand with support, so they can communicate effectively with health and social care services
More information can be found at www.england.nhs.uk/publication/accessible-information-standard-overview-20172018
If you have any information or communication support needs relating to a disability, impairment or sensory loss please let us know.
Interpreting Service
An interpreting service is available free of charge for patients using GP and NHS Hospital Services in England. This includes interpreting for people who are deaf or deaf/blind.
If you need an interpreter please inform the person who is booking your appointment (whether this is at the GP surgery or the hospital) so they can arrange it. As the interpreter will need to be arranged they will need as much notice as possible to book them.
Please be aware that we can not let children act as interpreters during an appointment or during your treatment.
Opening Hours
The surgery telephone lines are open throughout our normal working hours of:
Monday: 8:00am to 6:30pm
Tuesday: 8:00am to 6:30pm
Wednesday: 8:00am to 6:30pm
Thursday: 8:00am to 6:30pm
Friday: 8:00am to 6:30pm
We are closed on weekends and Bank Holidays.
Telephone lines can be extremely busy so to request an appointment or advice from a Doctor, nurse or other member of our clinical team we recommend that you use eConsult. This will help to avoid potential waits in telephone queues and is available 24 hours a day. You will be asked a series of questions about your problem and we will come back to you usually within two working days to either arrange an appointment, provide a telephone consultation, message you advice or sign-post you to where you can get the best support and help. Please note that afternoon appointments are not released for booking until 1.30pm that same day. We realise of course that e-consult won’t be for everyone so if your request is urgent our reception team remain on hand to take calls or assist if you attend in person.
Extended Access
The surgery is taking part in the national initiative to offer consultations outside of our usual hours. This service is provided by the Primary Care Network (PCN) which we’re part of and consists of the following practices Ongar Health Centre, The Limes Medical Centre, Epping High Street, Abridge Surgery, The Market Square Surgery and Maynard Court Surgery.
These appointments must be pre-booked with a GP or Nurse, and the normal surgery services will not be available during these times. Please contact reception for further details.
West Essex Time to Learn Events
The practice will be closed between 1.30pm to 5.30pm on certain dates to enable Clinical Staff to undertake the mandatory training that is held by Hertfordshire & West Essex ICB
